Edit: Sorry for confusing you all! Turns out that this is a fan event, and Chiba is a guest at the convention.
Chiemi Chiba posted last week on her blog that she will be selling products on February 5, 2012 at a limited event. The display will be located at the Kyouwa Forum (near Asakusabashi Station) in Tokyo, Japan, and will consist of Ojamajo Doremi products only. The event is titled Ojamajo Doremi Mirai, with “mirai” the Japanese word for “future.” It will start at 11 AM and end at 3 PM, lasting for only four hours.
The event will be reservation-only, and reservations to the display will end on January 24. People who RSVP ahead of time will receive a custom-made bracelet for 5,000 yen each.

On a sales ranking between November 28 and December 4, Ojamajo Doremi 16 debuts at #27 in the novel category and has sold 8,353 copies in its first week of sales.
In a fan report of Chiemi Chiba’s concert, Edomu states that Chiba had said that if the novel had sold over 50,000 copies, the production team will make a drama CD. Looks like hope for that is quite bleak.
If you haven’t picked up your copy, you can purchase Ojamajo Doremi 16 at YesAsia.

In September, Royal Patraine reported that Chiemi Chiba, Doremi’s voice actress, was going to hold a concert on October 10 in celebration of her 20th anniversary of entering the entertainment industry. The concert also featured voice actresses Maria Kawamura, Yumi Kikuchi, Sawa Ichige (Pop’s voice actress), and MAHO Dou (Tomoko Akiya/Hazuki, Yuki Matsuoka/Aiko, Rumi Shishido/Onpu, and Nami Miyahara/Momoko). Chiba, Ishige, Shishido, and Miyahara have blogged about how exciting the event was, and from the pictures they posted, it probably was fun for them!
A fan report written by Edomu states some very interesting events pertaining to MAHO Dou. Apparently, the following happened at the concert he attended:
- During a talk segment between Chiba and Ishige, Ishige gave Chiba an interesting ballpoint pen as her 20th anniversary gift. The two sang “Ojamajo Carnival!!” together.
- When MAHO Dou appeared, they did a “transformation.” Akiya wore an orange scrunchie, Matsuoka wore a blue necklace (the word can also stand for choker and Edomu does not note if it is), Shishido had purple hair (Edomu suspects that they are hair extensions), and Miyahara wore a yellow T-shirt. Ishige tried to use her red staff sticker but ended up joking, “It looks like Pop can’t do it!”
- All of them proceeded to sing “Honjama Ojamajo Daishuugou!!” together.
- Chiba and MAHO Dou’s talk session consisted of “secrets.” Chiba reveals that she has already read Ojamajo Doremi 16 (obviously, because her Twitter revealing the news stated so and there’s an interview with her at the end of the book) but apparently, if Ojamajo Doremi 16 sells more than 50,000 copies, the production team will make a drama CD as well!!
- Finally, they all ended their session with a Magical Stage spell. “Magical Stage! Let us gather together on the 30th anniversary. Happy 20th anniversary!”
- With Miyahara remaining on the stage, she sang Momoko’s image song from Dokka~n!, “Rainbow.”

While Ojamajo Doremi 16 is not going to have an official translation in English any time soon, fortunately, an anonymous translator has decided to do fan translations of Ojamajo Doremi 16. You can see the translator’s progress on ojamajodoremi16 on LiveJournal, and don’t forget to give your thanks!

As I mentioned before, I have not ordered Ojamajo Doremi 16 yet and will not be reading it until January. However, for those of you who are interested in the novel’s contents, I have summarized a bit based on summaries posted by Japanese bloggers. Please proceed with caution, as there may be unmarked spoilers for those who want to wait until they can read it.

It looks like Ojamajo Doremi 16 will become a light novel series as opposed to it being a one-shot novel. Fans have reported that the book ends with “To be continued in volume 2″, which indicates that there may be a follow-up volume. However, no announcement about this so-called “sequel” has been made yet.
For the novel itself, I won’t be ordering it until the end of this week, and will not be expecting to read it until January. Nevertheless, I will not change the entire format of the website to cover the novel, and events relating to the novel will be in a section separate from the rest of the information on this website. This means I will not be including events from Ojamajo Doremi 16 into the character profiles, but I will be including them in the timeline or other information that the novel will clarify.
For those waiting for an English translation, the staff of Doremi Fansubs plan to translate the novel, though it is not their highest priority. Despite this, there’s some reassurance that there will be a fan translation, even if may come at a later date.

Yesterday, Ojamajo Doremi 16 was released in bookstores. If you haven’t picked up a copy, YesAsia is retailing them for $12.49 (minus shipping costs).
I’m considering purchasing a copy of my own later this month. At least it’ll give me an incentive to update this website and practice my Japanese!

Kodansha has released a more in-depth summary of the upcoming Ojamajo Doremi 16 light novel, which I translated below (pardon the missing information!):
Doremi Harukaze, 16 years old!!
Doremi Harukaze, a 10th grade student! Today is my elementary school reunion.
I should meet Hazuki-chan, Ai-chan, and everyone else, but Onpu-chan isn’t here…
What happened to her?
Also, when I try going back to the place of my memories, somehow, the MAHO Dou is there. And now, why is Majorika even here?!
I generally have a probable bad feeling about this. Can I become a witch apprentice again? Will I become one? What should I do?!
In this “Ojamajo Doremi”, everyone has turned 16 years old and came back!!
A hot topic new series, more and more (can’t read the final word)
Amazon.co.jp is currently accepting pre-orders for the Ojamajo Doremi 16 novel, but I’ll keep a lookout for those who live outside of Japan and would rather spend less.

Thanks to PsychicKid, we’ve finally gotten the details as to what Ojamajo Doremi 16 is about! Translated from the blurry magazine scan that revealed the novel’s cover earlier, the shocking plot reveals Onpu’s disappearance, which possibly involves the mysterious MAHO Dou in some way!
Doremi Harukaze is in her 1st year of high school now! Doremi is very excited to meet her friends from elementary school, but Onpu Segawa is nowhere to be seen… While on the road back, memories come flooding back, but why is the MAHO Dou still standing!?
Onpu is nowhere to be seen? Hmmmm… why do you think she has disappeared? We’ll find out in December!

A recent magazine scan has revealed the cover for the long-awaited Ojamajo Doremi 16! If you’ve already seen the teaser image, you probably aren’t missing much since it’s the same image but with a different background. Nevertheless, it almost feels like the release date is coming near!
